SOS Connect: Social App for Instant Help and Location Sharing

We developed a Social Networking app to find people you know around you and alert them in case you need help. It was a simple, but effective way to stay connected with your loved ones and get help when you need it most.

Technologies Used

The app was developed using the following technologies:

Java:

-Java was used to develop the core functionality of the app, including the ability to connect with social networks, send alerts, and receive notifications.

Android:

-Android was used to develop the mobile app interface, allowing users to easily access the app’s features from their Android devices.

NET:

-NET was used to develop the backend server-side application, which stored user data, processed alerts, and communicated with the mobile app.

Project Scope

The project scope included the following major tasks:

User Authentication:

-Developed a secure authentication system for users to sign up and log in to the app using their social media accounts.

Real-time Location Tracking:

-Integrated real-time location tracking capabilities to enable users to see the locations of their contacts and receive notifications when they are nearby.

SOS Alerting:

-Implement a SOS alerting system that allows users to send emergency alerts to their contacts and receive assistance in case of an emergency.

Messaging and Notifications:

-Developed a messaging system for users to communicate with their contacts and receive notifications about alerts and other app updates.

Data Storage:

-Stored user data securely in a .NET backend server-side application.
