JavaScript(JS) is an object oriented programming OOP language based on the concept of prototypes. Created in 1995 by Brendan-Eich, the latest version was released in March 2011.

Despite the name and similarities in the syntax, there is no connection between JavaScript and Java, JavaScript has a syntax

close to that of  C, but has more in common with Self than with Java.

The current version of Mozilla (on which Firefox and Thunderbird versions 2.0 are built) supports JavaScript version 1.7.

On the Windows platform, JScript is one of the Windows Script executable languages, so it can be used to script applications that support Windows Script, such as Internet-Explorer, or even the Windows operating system.
